Liverpool is home to approximately 45,000 students (12% of Liverpool’s population), and currently has around 9,000 university-supplied beds (21% of the student population). This structural under-supply provides an almost unrivaled opportunity for investment in student accommodation.
Liverpool City Council have also implemented an Article 4 Direction, which restricts private landlords of some standard buy-to-let properties using their properties for student accommodation – defined as Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).
